If you were a Cup…

BLOG POST 1. Week 3 Output

Given the chance to choose among assortments:

porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal …

plain looking, expensive, exquisite …

Would you consciously choose for yourself the best cup? Which cup would you choose for a blend of coffee?

In some instance, we may be judged for wanting only the best for ourselves.  While others may consider that the cup adds no quality to the coffee.  What’s your take on this?

If “Life is the Coffee”, and the jobs, money & position in society are the cups which are just tools to hold and contain life , would your type of cup matter?

If they say “life is like a cup of coffee”,
how would your cup make sense?

Bring it up here, if you were a cup, let this piece of thought be an avenue to tell the world — foremost to your “SELF” how THE WHO THAT YOU ARE could make a difference – not actually among the assortments – but for a BLEND OF COFFEE called “life”! #sunset

  1. if i were a cup i want to be that glass type b’coz if life is a coffee and the cup is my job money and position.I want to be more strong willed like a glass strong and cant seen what is inside. Now a days its hard to work in a place full of intrigue and crab mentality you just need to be strong and wear that smiling face for them 🙂

  2. If i were a cup, I choose to become a PLAIN LOOKING PORCELAIN. ‘coz as you can see porcelain is hard but we all know the fact that it is also breakable. It somehow describes my personality. I’m not too expressive when it comes to my feelings and emotions.I’d rather keep it to myself. There are times when i breakdown also. Plain looking ‘coz whatever i may have or whoever I may become, I wanna live a simple yet happy and contented life. I’m a type of person that is easy to be with, highly motivated and can stand the test of time because i know God is with me which made me strong and a better person..

    1. If I were given a chance to choose the best cup for me, I would choose the glass because it would reflect of my own life. As we can see the transparency of a glass I want it also to be my guide to be always show it clearly to my pupils what I want them to grow and what I want them to become as the future leaders of the next generation with good heart. As a teacher being a model to them is a good example by walk with your talk.I want that cup to be hold with proper care by everyone and let them feel that each one is unique and to be treated carefully so it wont be broken.

  3. I love coffee!!! I am a self-confessed coffee drinker (a former coffee addict, if not because of my acidity problem).
I am a simple person, contented with what I have and what I am. Even when it comes to coffee, I don’t mind drinking on a chipped cup or with broken handle, even if it is brewed, instant (black) or with cream, as long as it is hot and with the right sugar level. I always savor the coffee, not the cup or mug. And I do believe that the cup won’t affect the quality of the coffee.
This simplicity and contentment in my coffee goes the same way with life. Job, money & position in society don’t bother me at all. Because to me, these do not define, nor change the quality of life I live. I have a wonderful husband, a happy kid, superb students, loving friends, and supportive parents and siblings. What more could I ask for?
To me, life is short, so I enjoy each day with the people who appreciates and love me. As they say, the happiest people don’t have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything. True, indeed! 🙂

  4. If I were a cup – it would be a plain looking glass for I am a very simple yet fragile woman. A woman of transparency and sensitivity.
As a cup being filled by life’s lesson, I would always be grateful for all of the experiences.

  8. If i were a cup, I choose to become a porcelain and plain looking. Because we all know that one characteristic of porcelain is not easily to destroy. And this characteristic stands for me how stronger I am in facing all the problems I encountered. And a plain looking one because I am a type of person eager to learn new things to make my cup/life more meaningful.

  10. If I become a cup, I would be a plain plastic cup. The kind of cup that can be seen everywhere, is used by everyone regardless of social status and is easily seen through. Plastic may be a simple material but is almost needed in most objects because it can be molded into solid objects of diverse shapes. That is why people use plastic in one way or another. Just like it’s quality, I am a person who deals with diverse people with humility. I am plain looking because I choose to remain humble regardless of what I accomplished and what I can become. Plastic may not be an expensive material but people would still choose it because they trust it’s quality and it’s worth.

I remain simple so that people with different status would not hesitate to approach me because they know my worth as a person. I am also transparent. I do not like to lie. Honesty is something I valued most to gain people’s trust. We may think that plastic causes a huge problem in our growing society but we should also remember that it plays an important role in our everyday life. There is almost no human activity without it being used. We just have to know how to take good care of it’s used so that it won’t cause a problem. Despite of those negative views, my cup of life would still be plastic because it can be super tough, rigid and flexible and is undeniably needed as part of our progress. Just like that cup, I intend to be part of our nation’s progress.

  12. If I were a cup, I would be a plain looking plastic coffee cup. The cheapest and the simplest cup among them all. Why? Because I don’t believe on the saying “What we see, is what we always get.” Oftentimes, we let ourselves deceived by not so important things on earth. The things which give us temporary satisfaction and happiness….beauty, work and money. And by concentrating only on the cups, we failed to enjoy the brews of coffee that God has provided us. As the line goes…. The happiest person doesn’t have the best of everything. It’s about how we live life with full of love, care, sincerity and contentment. We just have to live life to the fullest.:)

Given the chance to choose what kind of cup I would be, is a porcelain because if you look at it, it is white translucent ceramic and hard. In life being the eldest I must be strong enough to face challenges that arises in order for me to surpass the things that I will encounter along my way. Porcelain cup that is exquisite because God created us delicately according to his will and an opportunity to live. Expensive because I value the savour of what I am drinking in my cup which symbolized my life.

I choose a cup made up of porcelain that is plain looking and exquisite. I have chosen porcelain cup because if you hold it’s hard, smooth and it has different designs. Plain looking in the sense that I live a simple life, happy for I have a stable job and a silent type person. Others have a misconception about what they looked at me They see the party side of me but I have also a laid- back side. They judge you on what they see but they do know the inner part of it. Exquisite because we are important to this world. Each of us have different choices of what kind of cup do we choose but the important thing for me is the coffee inside the cup which symbolizes life. It lies in our hands on how we can make our own life worthy.

I actually watched a video pertaining that Life is like a cup of coffee.
It was there alumni, all we’re highly established in their careers. They get together to visit their old university professor. Their conversation turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups: porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some we’re expensive, some exquisite. He told his guests to help themselves to the coffee. After everyone had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: “If you noticed, all the nice looking, expensive cups have been taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. Be assured that the cup adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases, it is just more expensive, and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup. But you consciously went for the best cups.. And then you began eyeing each other’s cups to see who had the best one. Now consider this.. Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in the society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain. Life and the type of cup we have does not define nor change the quality of life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee. Savor the coffee, not the cups! The happiest people don’t have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything. Live simply. Speak kindly. Care deeply. Love generously.
The most important thing is to enjoy life-to be happy. It’s all that matters. We shouldn’t care if people would like us, love, hate or even judge us. What really matters in life is we live according to the teachings of God…… thanks : cherylene azuela

  23. If I were a cup of tea, I would be an unbreakable and irresistible cup. It’s a cup that can hold anything without resisting, the kind of cup that can hold the hottest water and the coldest water as well. Compared to that cup, I have to be versatile enough to adjust and adapt to any given situation. In other words, I need to be strong enough to function being the head of the class. I must be the strength to every student I handle each day. We face many students who are individually different from one another. Therefore, we should be bold enough to treat others fairly since one size does not fit all. That unbreakable cup represents me as a teacher- brave, courageous, determined, hardworking and persistent. It does not break and give up. It stands firm no matter how tough the journey may be. It has a strong faith to the ONE who made it that its strength is eternal.

Being persistent, committed, and optimistic and above all being versatile that can be rigid as characteristics exhibited by plastic cup. I would conform the quality of plastic to be more accountable for the realization and fulfillment of national development goal of education.

This cup represents my strength as a porcelain that is baked with warm experiences and can be easily broken if the trust is being tested. Im just a plain looking cup that you can easily use and can be a friend. I always feel great if anyone used me a servant of God that is willingly to help anytime. My purpose is to serve others. Be just as I am. Being just a cup is a great honor in aiding the needs of others.

In our . rich people are crytal cup but we do not have any idea “What is the taste of the coffee inside”?
