“You are the Motivation” that You Need!

“Choose a job you love and you will never have to work                 even a single day in your life!” — anonymous

Yet,  “Push yourself to a task you dont feel like doing —            and it’s as if you’ve been working against a wall which you can never push no matter what!” — gailmontero

What could there be and what could be missing in either conditions?   “Para kanino ka ba bumabangon”? — sheryfuncion                          What could have Steven Covey meant when he said  “There are three constants in life: change, choice, principles.”? … and what does this image depict in relation to Learning & Motivation?

change, choice, principles, beyond teaching, emotion, learning, education, motivation, retention, power, knowledge
Beyond Teaching: Change, Choice & Principles

Come to think of it, there are times when intrinsically or extrinsically, we may rarely find such “urge” to do the right thing — but because we want to do our social responsibility,  what then could be that “urge” and why do we need to find it?

What is it that we really need to have for us to be able to give?

education, learning, motivation, school, transfer of learning.
What is it that we need to have?

Do you really Love your SELF?

“When did you last say “i love you” to yourself?

“Kamusta ka?” … “kamusta ako?” — tengnacino

How much do you really know your “SELF”?

How aware are you that: what makes up your “Hierarchy of Needs” reflect the kind of person that you are? — OR — are you ever mindful of the things that you really need?  [ GRAB this opportunity to come-up with your PERSONAL HIERARCHY OF NEEDS]

There are some who aren’t! — and so, UNAWARE as they are, they do not notice that their words and actions are already demeaning others’ lives. Getting used to “tittle-tattle”, they become “influential” — to the point of corrupting others’ concept towards another.  Good relationships become blemished because “such influence” won over “some innocent souls”.  Without them knowing, they are already inducing others to wear that same “BAND-AID” that they are wearing: Avoidance, Idealization & Defense which originated from CHILDHOOD.

Some of us are “wounded child”! — teng

YET, we never want to GROW OLD without being HEALED! — or, even if we justify that we are not wounded, we still need to DEFINE the PERSON THAT WE ARE so that we won’t be “that innocent soul” who could possibly be instigated by tainted tendencies & intentions of those who do not truly care about themselves — in its real sense!

What’s your TYPE: #1 Reformist, #2 The Helper, #3 The Achiever, #4 The Romantic,  #5 The Investigator, #6 The Loyal, #7 The Enthusiast, #8 The Challenger or #9  The Mediator.

“Everyone is a unique blend…what do you think would help you determine what is yours?”

And that “GOLDEN RULE: BE TRUE TO YOUR  “SELF”!” — how would it BENEFIT you then?

Avoid the Temperament TRAP!

How do you feel right now?

Have you ever noticed  that you are at times impulsive or are you  aware that sometimes you are “unpredictable”?

Well if not, and if you really don’t mind about it, let me tell you now that it’s not something you just  have to shrug your shoulders about!

Ancient Greek medicine believed that  the above-mentioned “inclinations” could be considered  as possible “illness” due to an imbalance in the four types of body fluids: blood, yellow bile, black bile, and phlegm.

It should be A CHALLENGE FOR US to  SELF-REGULATE those body fluids and  find the “right blending”.

A person’s PERSONALITY can be characterized by ONE HUMOR – thus the so called TEMPERAMENT  which is medically defined as our HABITUAL INCLINATIONS  or our mode of EMOTIONAL RESPONSES.

We didn’t understand this when we were still young – that’s why, many of us are not aware that OUR FAILURE OR WEAKNESS TO MODIFY our TEMPERAMENTS are actually the RISKS that we are continually creating to hinder building HARMONIOUS RELATIONSHIPS. – why? – because “that very moment when we THROW an IMPULSE, could cause A DOMINO EFFECT”!

“That SHOUTING that you did to a CHILD could create an IMPACT which could be a dangerous part that would make up her Personality!”  — at least one of the COMMON DANGERS which we are not so aware of.  states:  “Temperament is the part of the Unique Child that refers to the fact that all children are born into this world with their own individualized blueprints for reacting to the world around them. Based on a thirty-year study begun in 1956, temperament explains why some children are very easy-going while others tend to be more challenging for parents. Sometimes you hear these challenging children being called “difficult” or spirited; this is often because they have temperamental traits that make them more demanding to parent.

We may be that one “demanding child” back then or maybe until now; BUT HEY, we are no longer kids at this point!

Note to my “bright & gorgeous students”: you may just choose a minimum of three [3] questions/concepts to PONDER-ON — those which you can relate the most 🙂

Let The Learner Love Learning

The Learner, schooling, motivation, looking-into, developmental tasks
When we fail to “look-into” our Learners …

Would you mind taking into consideration that it would take … NOT THE BEST  — rather an “influential teacher” to make THE LEARNER LOVE “LEARNING”?

From SIMPLE TO COMPLEX, Psychological Foundation of Education suggests that there is the need to look-into THE LEARNER all throughout his levels of development  from Infancy  to Old-Age.

Probing into the fulfillment of his Biological & Physiological needs, The Learner should be provided various amounts of experiences to help him reach a certain level wherein he should be able to perform some developmental tasks until Maturation is  attained.

Although development could naturally be sequential/chronological, the rate of improvement could possibly be different in every individual due to Heredity and Environment — which brings about INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES.

However, despite such disparities, each Learner is  naturally endowed with Positive Attitude such as: Curiosity, Persistence & Responsibility coupled with their “innate” Ability, Aptitude, Attitude & Interest.

Danger is … when “The Teacher” is not equipped with some amount of CREATIVITY to address  certain difficult episodes — just because he did not take time to take into consideration his students’ individual characteristics and  differences in developmental levels.

As I’ve previously conceptualized,  “Not many would consider looking at the learner and its kind before going through the many strategies which a teacher can utilize.” Learning who the Learner Is”, should be an integral factor to consider for a teacher to succeed in the kind of experience he could create in each of his Learner!

Thus, we should, in one way or the other, help ourselves become “influential” by  “pondering-on” these:

motivation, learning, the learner, psychological foundation of education
Teachers should be the first “learners” — pondering on concepts like these!

influence, learner, motivation
How would you “influence” The Learner” NOT TO HATE SCHOOL?

Your % Allotment. A Self- Approximation

self identity, who am I, uniqueness
This is “ME”

The “WHO” that you are? …

Creative, adorable, thoughtful, hilarious, youthful, day dreamer, sweet, systematic, patient, independent, adventurous, zealous, enduring, observant, challenging, energetic, joyful, optimistic, loyal, great, loving mother, brave, honest, social worker, God-fearing, motherly, organized, active, never easily gives up, joker, committed, beloved father, thinker, adventurous, wonderful, ambitious, sensitive, religious, cry baby, emotional, athletic, notorious, interactive, eco-lover, caring, responsible, extra hard-worker, always “on-the-go”, nice, emphatic,  nursing,  approachable, friendly, fun-loving, excited, kind, jolly, happy, pretty, multi-tasker, youth-lover, nice, talented, listener, intelligent, dreamer, believer, awesome, listener, realistic, good looking, special, explorer, willing to learn, influential.

Can you still pick the character that you are — as you said “you were” when you did your meaningful introduction?

YOU ARE UNIQUE … YES, YOU ARE! — but it’s never easy proving so, unless you find some other means  which would be of great help.

2.  Draw an “AKO symbol and allocate a certain percentage: How many % of YOU are these needs?

3.  Now, what about your BLESSINGS? Make a list of it too.

5.  How many % of YOU are those blessings?

6.  Now, try to do some “SELF-CHECK-POINT”!

How did you use your percentages? Anything else left? Without having to be told, haven’t you thought of allotting some of what you have for SHARING?  What then can you GIVE? How many % of YOU can you GIVE?

7.  What are you going to do now IF NOTHING IS LEFT?  What could be some points of realization here?

Don’t feel bad about the allotments which you’ve been somehow unmindful about.  YOUR REALIZATIONS would tell about the person that you are.

You may be “caught un-aware” along the way — just like going through LIFE — which is said to be “like a box of chocolates: you’ll never know what you will get” [Forest Gump] — but your reactions each time you get something which is not really your choice will SPEAK A LOT OF WHO YOU ARE!
