How Should we Transfer what We Should?

children-live-what-they-learn

What’s up with us now?

Chaos here and there … there has been a lot which we need to unlearn from the archives of our past.  There should be a lot which we need to learn & re-learn from the scenarios of our present.

Adult as we are, we may not identify which is which to learn and unlearn at this point in time — How much more a child would?

Everything now is at stake! – don’t you think so?

If we ever intend to “map-out” a good journey for our children’s future, there are “Windows of opportunity” which we need to look into; yet we vaguely are able to ascertain which and what and how.

Children Learn What They Live; Children Live What They Learn

Children learn what they live

Children live what they learn

Teach them the way to love in their hearts

They will find love in the world.

If a child lives with criticism, he learns to condemn,

If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight.

If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy.

If a child lives with shame, he learns to feel guilty.

If a child lives with tolerance, he learns to be patient,

If a child lives with encouragement, he learns confidence,

If a child lives with praise, he learns to appreciate,

If a child lives with fairness, he learns justice.

If a child lives with security, he learns to have faith,

If a child lives with approval, he learns to like himself,

If a child lives with acceptance and friendship,

he learns to find love in the world.

How a child learns and develops is very critical!

UNAWARE as we possibly are, children would even learn even those that we do not teach.

This fact makes it even more DANGEROUS — for we are not so sensible of the things and actions that children may capture.

Now the thing is, WHAT is it that WE SHOULD TRANSFER to each child? and HOW should we transfer what we should? [please expound your idea through AN ARTICLE of your own, with your own title.]

In this Millennial Age, if we ever want to make REAL TRANSFORMATION, we have to see children in a new light!  They are not ours to just keep, they are our RESPONSIBILITY TO NURTURE – and most importantly, they could be THE CHANGE that we could be OPTIMISTIC ABOUT!

Is your Mom your Leader?

“A parent is a leader. It’s the most important leader in the world.”

Reading this from Bro. Bo Sanchez’ message made my mind ask so many things to myself.

I have not been so “me” lately!  I’ve been physically weak, ‘been wanting to still do a lot of things the usual that I used to, but there is this stinging unexplained pain somewhere that makes me stop just to give my body the chance to recuperate.

Good thing though, every time I stop, I ignite myself to claim for God’s healing. Humbly it would bring me to sobs because no matter how strong I want to remain, God might have been giving me such leeway for me to have that “breathing space” which would also give my kids the chance to affirm now that God is giving them “their turn” to make visible — the things that they’ve learned from their mom.

Parent as I am, I then ask myself: “had I been a good leader to my kids?”; “did I accomplish a task having been sent as a mother to them?”; “would my leadership make our kids whom God wants them to be?”

Too early as of yet to get some answer maybe … but I may just represent all the other parents out there who strive to keep that SPARK the best we could, no matter how much sacrifice we have to overcome each day; yet, just as Jesus said to his disciples, we parents do cry out for this too:

“Whoever loves me will keep my word; Whoever does not love me does not keep my words; yet the word you hear is not mine but that of the Father who sent me.” — JN 14:23-29

So for YOUths out there, as much as your parents strive to kindle their light to lead your way to God’s wisdom, may you also strive to ignite your “heart” not only to hear your parents’ voice but most importantly to “listen” to that “inspiration” coming from their deepest intention to make you a Very Inspired Person who would in turn be regarded as Very Inspiring Persons to others too – because there within your HOME, you’ve met your very first VIPs: Very Inspired & Inspiring Parents!

And to us parents, WE MAY BE WEAK AT TIMES but so long as we never turn “that spark OFF” we will always be God’s follower and our kids’ influencer! #sunset

What do you Tend to Forget?

“Man, a Being that Forgets”???

ANTHROPOLOGY, being the study of mankind and all its aspects is one of the Foundations of Education for it looks into the distinct characteristics, way of thinking, feeling & acting of the SEEKER OF KNOWLEDGE.

Being exposed to various circumstances, Sir Edward Talylor, an Idealist Philosophical Scholar of Plato articulated that a certain “complex whole” is being cultivated until man makes himself “belong” to social practices — thus the so called CULTURE: “cultura”/”cultus” = care – where man is eventually faced with the issues of “freewill” and the relationship between rightness and goodness.

Anthropologists contend that it is “human nature” to “gradually accept shared beliefs and values of group through ENCULTURATION & SOCIALIZATION, both LEARNING PROCESSES which eventually tribe people to a complete package of a certain culture called RACE.

Dealing with the origin, nature, and destiny of human beings,

WHAT IS IT then in ANTHROPOLOGY that we need to regard significant?

What is it then that MAN TENDS TO FORGET?

What do you, as a person then as a teacher tend to disregard?

How will you use Anthropology to affect our generation in the future?

What’s in your Toolbox?

“In the eyes of a child, there is joy, there is laughter,

There is hope, there is trust

For the lessons of life, there is no better teacher

Than the look in the eyes of a child.”

With that child looking at you each day without you noticing much …

With that person whom you’re unmindfully getting acquaintances …

With those many or several insignificant glances you’ve made with one and all …

With those eyes you’ve never met and seen such speck of joy and laughter, hope and trust — YOU COULD HAVE HAD THE CHANCE TO SHAPE THE FUTURE!

Many stories could have been touching only if told and a lot of life’s long hidden meaning could have been explored!

Dreams should have been identified during youth and plans could have already been in progress even then — SHOULD YOU HAVE MATCHED THE HIDDEN FEELINGS with whatever it is that you have RIGHT THERE – just WITHIN YOUR REACH!

TEACHER as you are or even if NOT practicing AS OF YET, so long as you CARE ABOUT THE FUTURE and so long as you enjoy CONNECTIVITY THRU SOCIAL MEDIA & other means, you have all the opportunity to learn THE LESSONS OF LIFE from each look in the eye of a child!

Much more that you are enrolled in this course, what could be your edge?

What has PEDAGOGY to do with the raging technology which is generously giving us all the options to promote quality of performances both of the teacher and of the students … and even of their parents in collaboration?

ON PURPOSE, what should you do then to LIVE-UP to that “thrill to achieve” which lies and lives deep within you?

If you are to design your own life, what purpose will you be DRIVEN at — for you to  MAKE A DIFFERENCE in the future?

“You’ve found the place to walk the path you’ve chosen

You’ll never miss the world you left behind

When life gives life, it’s happiness unbroken

When you give love, it’s love you’ll find!”

How should you Synergize?

Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them,    the teacher is the most important. – Bill Gates.

SUCH A GREAT TRUST to us, Teachers … right?

Cooperative Process, Active involvement, Integration, Motivation, Socialization, Understanding, Connectivity, Creativity/innovation & Discovery – just to name some of the Principles that should influence our actions as to what is right and which is wrong every time we think of our “being the most important” mostly in motivating our students.

YET, what could have been wrong if we would consider some simple realities that there are some students who dread going to school or who get bored with the usual classroom routine, the never-ending “any question, do you understand?” lines subject-after-subject, and all the likes?

The Learner, schooling, motivation, looking-into, developmental tasks
When we fail to “look-into” our Learners …

Would you mind taking into consideration that it would take … NOT THE BEST  — rather an “influential teacher” to make THE LEARNER LOVE “LEARNING”?

Good for us to belong to the 21st Century where we no longer just have “chalk & board”, “manila paper & pentel pen” – TECHNOLOGY already have a lot to offer variations after variations – but the thing is, do we really get to SYNERGIZE these TECHs with the Basic Learning Theories, Principles & Practices?

How then should we facilitate SYNERGY in its TOTALITY?

Do you hear what your students need? Do you also listen to your own SELF?

What does your EAR HEAR everytime you’re preparing for a lesson? Everytime you would go to your next class?

REFLECT! For it might be that “such thing which you do not hear deep within yourself would be that same response that your students would have” when you’re there in that class whose lesson you didn’t really hear beforehand.#sunset

What’s your “Missing Link”?

“The only thing worse than being blind

is having sight but has no vision!” — Hellen Keller

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s determination to see what was there in the past that would pave way to something certain in the future.

Man would hope to head towards a certain direction.  Naturally, we would tend to feel that we’ve already exerted a lot of effort; we would tend to engage; and persist; and trigger on certain goals — only to find out that we’re doing things the wrong way because there are a lot  that we do not see; nor notice; nor consider.

What then should we do for us to clearly see “the WHO that we are now”?

What is it that we are possibly depriving ourselves from which block our sight to clearer vision?

Whose story “affects” your sense of direction?

What is that vision that you have gaze at?

What’s the “WHY”?

Selfies, status posts, tweets, blogs, #hugotlines, captured vids and the likes — name it, the Social Media contain variations and a lot more! Whatever there are, one and all would always be excited to keep on going back to their posts and see how many likes, reactions & hits they’ve got!

Exciting, isn’t it? — but it’s all somewhere OUT THERE!

YET, THE IRONY! — deep within each show-offs are actually searching souls. Lonesome SOMEWHERE “IN THERE”! — longing deep within!

Such a vast world with interconnected connections — yet, VOID OF MEANING! And yes, for the longest time of existence of Facebook, Instagram, You Tube, Tweeter, Google, Linkedin, Tumbler, Blogger and the likes, that same longing for affirmations still go on and on and on …

Technology has all been set, Apps keep on growing in variations; sometimes we no longer even know what alternative would best fit our convenience, yet still, some vastness remain not-filled-in!

But what do you think is the “WHY”?

What is there that we actually need to evaluate?

How do you give meaning to a meaningless world?

What message should come across?

What should be your technology? … How would you INSPIRE through it?

What’s YOUR CALL?  🙂

Stethoscope your Greatness

Cor Dei 35. 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Pls Read God’s Silent Message: MK 8:27-35

Stethoscope, Gospel Reflection, Sunday Reflection,
                            Jesus’ “I AM” in SAM!

@SLMH, September 6, 2015.

She’s in that hospital bed – but with DevComTheories handouts, laptop & other “to divert stuff” with her on such bed. She was vomiting, but laughing all the way with Al-Dub’s organic-naturally “kilig-fun” magnetic stream.

And this, I found: “a stethoscope” of her own!

— an instrument used for listening to sounds produced by the body. It is also used to listen to blood flow in peripheral vessels…

“She’s currently in pain — but she manages to smile; she’s been too brave to capture the procedures she had, and yes, with her own stethoscope, SHE LISTENS to her own blood flow to make herself ON-GUARD against any untoward clotting & misalignments.

“If a man wishes to come after me, he must deny his very self, take up his cross, and follow in my steps.” — Jesus

It’s never easy denying any pain when you’re in the midst of battling for your NOW and for your future — but because our very own Sam Timbreza, one of our Youth Leaders here in The Feast SM Santa Rosa, has been all throughout affirming her personal answer to the question raised by Jesus in today’s gospel: “who do you say that I am?”, SHE IS even STRONGER at her weakest point!

Such greatness! — through the eyes of faith.

With the gifts of family & friendships and because she listens to what’s on the inside, SHE IS DETERMINED to be “that salt” that will fulfill her God-given mission not only until she gets well but even now that she’s still striving to get SAVED by all means with her OWN INITIATIVE TO BE WELL and with the most POSITIVE CLAIM that she will find a KIDNEY DONOR even before that time-framed transplant six months from now.

Hopefully “this makes us PINOY” our dear Brothers & Sisters – may we relate with Sam’s story & inspiration & may we be that instrument that would answer our prayer for Sam & for her family, specifically for a “kidney donor”! Let us share this Identity of love for one another as we ENTER God’s Kingdom down here! ©sunset

Give God that chance!

Responsibility, own actions,
We should be responsible of our own actions!

If people keep on doing bad things to us,

we should be responsible of our reactions.

Yes its ok to get mad all because we justify our vulnerability

— but we should learn to CONTROL our emotion —  for if we get too mad, “sino ba ang talo?”

Sometimes we allow ourSELF to be enslaved by our anger until it makes us “caught unaware” that it has gotten its way into our very being which drains us “to the max” and makes us  “so down and out

We’re not getting any younger for us not to realize that no blemished intentions should ever take control of us.  Not that easy though … but if at such tempting time we would try this strategy:   “Breath things out to God and

God will give you the peace that you need!

— surely, It will lead you to nothing but tears and sobs then it will make you slumber to a good sleep — a chance for God to tell you in your dreams that you just did a great job for Him: for CONTROLing YOUR TEMPER!
